Happy day after Thanksgiving! I took pictures furiously last night between bites and conversation right up till the end of the evening when my camera officially broke. (Does anyone have any suggestions for our next camera?) I have much to be thankful for.
Last night was the traditional, post dinner movie excursion to see “Synecdoche, New York”. Interesting, to say the least.
We’re off to Portland for the weekend, so I’ll be back with holiday pictures and stories of Oregon adventures soon.

But here it is anyway.

Long promised, here it is: Our trip to Cabo San Lucas. I could try to describe it, but you know what they say about pictures… I can say that you won’t get the full effect of it unless you bundle up, turn your heaters up really, really high, and sit under a bright therapy light. Highlights for me? Swimming with a dolphin, snorkeling, watching the election and popping champaign, laying in the sun, and being with my family.

That last night was amazing. I have been loved. When I can, I will catch you all up on the details, of everything: Mexico (I know, I know, long time coming) music, boys, mustache… it’s all coming.

Last night was amazing. To all of you hordes of people who came from all over town to make it happen, I thank you. Here’s a big random bunch of pictures.

Yeah, I know, you’re maybe sick a of hearing about it. I’m going to remind you anyway because I think it’s going to be cool and because I really want to have as many people come to support this great non profit. I’m also want lots of folks around to support the grand reopening of Shakabrah Java: a Tacoma icon and fixture in the landscape of the growing up of Grace. (I was the 16 year old girl smoking $20 cigars outside and nursing a $2 cup of coffee, it’s a long story.)
Here’s a blurb from our mailing list about tonight’s show:
“Hey everyone,

Home. Again. Getting back into the swing of life, renewed, tan, and with a little dose of something yucky in my guts. Mexico was amazing, fully deserving of it’s own post, coming soon, I swear.
What a year it has been so far. Transition. Loss. Crisis. And yet, in comparison with the tragedies of history and with the rest of the dear people on this planet, I am blessed beyond belief. After everything it has all boiled down to the fact that I just want to spend time with the people I love, celebrating life, making beauty wherever I can. I have less answers than ever before but, as those geniuses sang, “all you need is LOVE, LOVE, LOVE/Love is all you need”.
In light of that, I’m playing more music than ever. We even wrote a happy song, a tribute to our friend, Joe Kudabeck. If you’re feeling inclined, you can even go over to my music page to hear it.
Also, I’m playing two shows this week. Yes, two. Assuming Aaron’s strep throat clears enough to allow it. Come, see us if you are inclined. If not I’ll still be playing my guts out, grateful to have the breath to do it.

I’m in Cabo San Lucas. I’m getting tan, snorkeling, scrambling up my Spanish, savoring local tequilla, and napping my heart out.
Life is good, even when it’s not.
