A Life of Grace

Thanks, Faith

Sometimes certain music touches me in a way I can’t describe, can’t even fully understand. Perhaps it’s my current state of mind. Maybe it has something to do with the cocktail of circumstances I find myself in (which I will not be sharing in this blog, no sir). Somehow, despite his kookiness, his imperfections and flaws, and his controversial nature (or even because of it), I’ve been listening to Antony and the Johnsons over and over and over again. My sister Faith told me about him last week (smack dab in the middle of the aforementioned cocktail) and, while sometimes our musical tastes diverge (she hates jazz), this time we agree. Not since my posthumous discovery Jeff Buckley have I been this stoked on an artist.
